He has created more than 15 hours of music for nine Star Wars games.
When composer John Williams in February told KUSC that 2019’s Star Wars: Episode IX is the last entry in the fabled franchise he plans to score, it triggered an industry guessing game as to whom the legendary maestro would pass the baton. If quantity factors with quality, game composer Gordy Haab may have an edge. Haab has created more than 15 hours of music for nine Star Warsgames. The most recent -- Electronic Arts’ Star Wars: Battlefront II -- was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, earning him the video game score of the year at May 23’s ASCAP Screen Music Awards.
Gordy Haab is a multi award-winning film, video game and television composer who has written music for many well-known titles, including Microsoft’s “Halo Wars 2, and EA’s “Star Wars Battlefront I”, which won Music of the Year, Best Interactive Score, and Best Instrumental Score at the 2016 GDC G.A.N.G. Awards, and was nominated for a BAFTA for Excellence in Audio Achievement. Additionally, Haab scored Activision/AMC’s “The Walking Dead”, based on the #1 hit TV series and Microsoft’s “Kinect: Star Wars”, which won “Best Music” at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards. Haab continues to compose the music for EA and Bioware’s “Star Wars: The Old Republic,” for which he was awarded “Best Original Soundtrack” and “Best Instrumental Music” at the 10th Annual GDC G.A.N.G. Awards.

"The Xbox game Halo Wars 2 is shaking things up musically as the first game soundtrack in 12 years to recorded with American Federation of Musician union players on Twentieth Century Fox’s Newman Scoring Stage, where composer Gordy Haab conducted an 80 piece orchestra last fall for the February release.
"...Microsoft Publishing is pushing the epic “Halo Wars 2,” which combines a 80-piece orchestral score by Gordy Haab (recorded with union players on Fox’s Newman Stage) combined with electronic music written and performed by Brian Trifon and Brian Lee White of Finishing Move. “I would write the themes and they would enhance them,” Haab says of the 150 minutes of music for one of the biggest game franchises of all time.

"Gordy Haab has composed some great memorable scores in film, TV and video games. Gordy along with several other composers tackled the extremely popular Star Wars: The Old Republic video game which was a great stepping stone that lead to Gordy taking the reigns on Star Wars: Battlefront and now the recent followup Star Wars: Battlefront II. Gordy also recently scored Halo Wars 2.
